What is the difference between PITCat and Database log in credentials?

What is PITCat? What log in do I use for a database and what log in should I use for the catalog, PITCat?

Answer

The Library has 2 separate login credentials:

  1. PITCat – PITCat is the online Library card catalog. You would use PITCat for contact-less book checkout and to search resources physically held in the Media Campus Library.
  2. EZ Proxy – Is the same username and password as your login credentials for “my.pit.edu.” The EZ Proxy log in is used for all databases and online library resources.

The login windows look different for PITCat and EZ Proxy:

PITCat Log In (Library Catalog)

EZ Proxy Database Log In

You do not need to set-up your EZ Proxy username and password because it is synched to your “my.pit.edu” login credentials.

You will need to log into your PITCat account and update your EZ Username and EZ Password to match your “my.pit.edu” login credentials. Here are directions for updating your EZ username and password: https://pit.libanswers.com/faq/324504
